MCRP 3-02B: Marine Corps Martial Arts is a publication issued by the U.S. Marines which outlines the tactical principles of close combat in both combative and noncombative situations. The purpose of this book is to provide Marines with an understanding of both lethal and nonlethal close combat techniques needed to handle potentially dangerous situations responsibly without escalating violence unnecessarily.

The book contains five levels corresponding to different behaviors exhibited by those involved in conflicts or confrontations; these range from verbal commands all the way up to application of deadly force if necessary. Each level involves specific actions such as contact controls, compliance techniques, defensive tactics or use of weapons depending on how serious a situation may be.

Close combat includes hand-to-hand combat, defense against handheld weapons such as knives or batons, rifle bayonets as well as any weapon available at any given time - making it essential for Marines operating within today's continuum of force where conflict can change quickly over short periods.

In order for standardization across branches within the military organization MCRP 3-02B supersedes Fleet Manual FMFM 0-7 Close Combat dated 9 July 1993 providing significant differences between them which should be reviewed thoroughly before practical application during training sessions.
